Stacie M. Smith
Stacie M. Smith, 98, of Route 3, Box 278A, Buckhannon, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Sada Gould.
She was born June 4, 1906, in Tenmile, the daughter of the late George W. Tenney and Temperance Ellen Friend Tenney.
On March 21, 1921, she was married to Harvey Low Smith, who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1966.
Surviving are two sons, Denzil Smith and wife, Rena, of Buckhannon and Doyle Smith and wife, Karen, of Rootstown, Ohio; two daughters, Vada Ralston and husband, Tom, of Rootstown, Ohio, and Sada Gould of Buckhannon; 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Herman Smith and Darris Smith; and one daughter, Velma Godfrey.
She was a homemaker, a member of United Brethren Church of Beans Mill and attended Rocky Ford United Methodist Church since 1966.
Friends were received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today. The Rev. Michael Smith, who is her grandson, and the Rev. Nancy Killingsworth will officiate and interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery at Hinkleville.
