Lawrence "Eddie" Stark, 86 of Scipio passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his residence.
Born on January 14, 1925 in San Jacinto, Lawrence was the son of the late Louis and Laura Schonfeld Stark. Lawrence served his country in the United States Army from 1943 until 1946 as a medical technician in New Guinea, the Phillippines, and Luzon during World War II. Exactly a month after his discharge from the Army, Eddie married his love, Patty Norris, on February 24, 1946 in Madison. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2001. Mr. Stark retired from Columbus Regional Hospital in 1985 after 33 years of employment as a Special Service Technician.
Eddie enjoyed woodworking, upholstering, hunting and fishing in his earlier days and trading cars in his later years.
He is survived by three sons, Eddie Michael Stark and his wife Qwen of Columbus and Steve and Larry John Stark both of North Vernon, six grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, and Samuel Stark, Kelly Eder, Tara Wilson, and Erica Willoughby, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Stark was preced in death by his wife, parents, and two brothers, Bill and Clarence Stark.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Lee officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday morning at Dupont Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors.
