US Congressman. He served in the Militia in the Revolutionary War with the rank of Major General. Following the war, he moved to Ohio, where he served in the Ohio State House of Representatives and as Ohio Secretary of State. He was elected to the United States Congress from Ohio, and served from 1833 to 1837.
