Hulda Elizabeth Goodgame is the daughter of James Allen Goodgame and Margaret Elizabeth Thompson. She was born 17 January 1858. She was the first Goodgame to be born in Texas. She married 29 July 1873 (Book 2 page 77) in Henderson County, Texas. Her husband was James "Jim" Chapman. J. W. Owen was the minister officiating. James was born in 1845 in Talladega or Coosa County, Alabama.
He was 28 years old when he married Hulda Elizabeth at age 15. His parents were Griffith Chapman and Margaret Edden. Hulda Elizabeth died in childbirth 27 March 1878 in Athens, Texas.

Hulda Elizabeth Goodgame Chapman was buried in the Good-game Cemetery in Henderson County, Texas near Athens WITHOUT a marker. in 1989, I, Verner Bee Fry Chaffin, bought one for her with my typing money. I am her great niece. Hulda's second cousin - Leona Goodgame Stapp -showed the marker-maker where to place the tombstone. Now Hulda Elizabeth Goodgame Chapman has a marker after one hundred and eleven years.
