JEFFERSON T. RIGDON.

Jefferson T. Rigdon, 86, of 2126 Mulberry St., died at 2:30 a. m. Wednesday at the McCreedy's Rest, home of a stroke and complications.

He was born Jan. 3, 1876, in McLean County, Illinois, the son of Dallas and Elizabeth Adkins Rigdon. He married Mattie Swisher on Jan. 21, 1897, in Piattlee, Illinois. He began farming in Black Hawk County in 1902, retiring 26 years ago.

Surviving are one son, Frank of Los Angeles, Calif.; four daughters: Mrs. A. W. Gilbert of 2126 Mulberry St., with whom he made his home before he went to the rest home; Mrs. M. V. Roethler of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Wilfred Hiltgen of Lakeside, Ore.; Mrs. George Bloeser of Green Bay, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Searle of Washington, D. C.; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and six brothers.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Friday afternoon at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home where friends may call after noontime Thursday.
