LENZ, CAROLYN ALLNUT (Age 79)
On Friday, July 20, 2001 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Bethesda, MD. A resident of Maplewood Park Place, Bethesda, MD.
Beloved wife of the late James L. Allnutt and Ralph M. Lenz; sister of Dorothy C. Major, Suffolk, VA; step-mother of Diane May, McLean, VA and Carol Warner, Roanoke, VA. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lenz was born in Spring Valley, VA, the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert W. Cannaday.
After graduating from Fries High School, she attended Farmville State Teachers College and Roanoke Business College. She spent many years in government service as secretary to the late Senator A. Willis Robertson (D-VA) and in the departments of the Treasury and the Navy. After retiring, she worked for Mr. Peter at Tudor Place and was an active volunteer at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, D.C. She was also a member of Chevy Chase United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at PUMPHREY'S BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE FUNERAL HOME, 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda, MD on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Wednesday, July 25 at 11 a.m. Interment Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, MD. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association, 1211 Connecticut Ave., N.W., Suite 501, Washington, D.C. 20036.
