Mrs. Ada Cahill Dies, Final Rites Held Here Monday
Mrs. Ada Cahill, 79, died Friday evening, April 6, at Waseca Memorial Hospital after a three weeks illness. Death was attributed to complications of old age.
Funeral services were held Monday in St. Ann's Catholic Church. Monsignor F. R. English celebrated the Requiem Mass assisted by two nephews of the deceased, Father Byron of St. Clair and Father Earl Byron of Currie. The Arnoldt Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were John Cahill Jr., Joseph Byron, Eugene Sammon, Walter Byron, Robert Byron and James F. Byron. All are nephews and great nephews of the late Mrs. Cahill. Burial was in St. Ann's cemetery.
Mrs. Cahill was a member of a pioneer family. She was born in St. Mary's Township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Byron (Catherine O'Mara). She attended the Sisters of the Holy Child Academy at Waseca. She married William R. Cahill in St. Mary's Church, September 1, 1897. Her husband, who preceded her in death, was a business man in Janesville, having operated the Cahill Lampert Lumber Company fore many years.
Mrs. Cahill was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, the NCCWS and the Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. George B. Cahill of Chicago, Ill., and Paul R. Cahill of Janesville; two daughters, Annunciata M. Cahill and Cecelia Cahill, Janesville. Three children, Eugene, Bertrand and Elizabeth preceded her in death. Brothers and sisters surviving are James H. Byron, Waseca, Mrs. Agnes Bird, Waseca and Miss Isabelle Byron, Wenatchee, Washington.
