Charles Conrad Hoffmann was born July 2, 1874 in Michigan and passed away at his mountain home 10 miles southeast of Mineral Hot Springs, Colorado at 12:15 on Dec 8, 1943 at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 6 days.

He came to this community with his parents when 5 years old and has spent his entire life here since that time, being engaged in the saw mill business most of his life. He helped his father saw shingles and hack ties and when a young man he took lumbering as his occupation and became a noted sawyer.

In 1903 he was united in marriage to Eva L. Blanchard. To this union was born a son, Franklin Hoffmann of Crestone, Colorado; and a daughter, Jessie, who preceded her father in death 13 years ago--passing in 1930. Also 2 brothers preceded him--August Hoffmann in 1928 and Albert, but a year ago in November 1942.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Eva Hoffmann, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan McDaniel of Mineral Hot Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hoffmann and grandson, Jimmy Hoffmann of Crestone, one brother, Fred Hoffmann of Mineral Hot Springs, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Noland of Mineral Hot Springs, Mrs. Jacob Barsch of Villa Grove and Mrs. Anna Rule of Los Angeles, California.
