Mr. Overstreet was born November 27, 1953 in Old Hickory, TN., the son of the late Hilda Virginia Sharp and James Leon Overstreet, Sr. He was a 1971 graduate of Smith County High School, Carthage, TN. He was a Veteran of the Armed Forces serving in the United States Air Force from 1978 to 1982. He was married on October 6, 1984 to Patricia Dawn Boswell. He worked as a maintenance technician with the Parks and Recreation for the Town of Smyrna. He was a avid University of Tennessee fan and was a proud supporter of all his nieces and nephews activities.
Survived by his wife of 25 years, Dawn Boswell Overstreet, Son , Zachary Leon Overstreet. Sister, Brenda Kay Overstreet all of Murfreesboro, TN. Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Mr. Overstreet's remains are at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeal Homes, 807 Main St., Carthage, where services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Greg Moser and Bro. Ronnie Smith, officiating with eulogist Ed Baker. Interement Mt. Zion Cemetery.
