Chico Enterprise, Thursday Evening, December 11, 1913, pg 7 col 1: "The News In Brief Of the City and Suburbs. Crandalls Entertained – Mr. and Mrs. Ben L. Crandall, who were married in Oroville yesterday, as told in last evening's Enterprise, were given a rousing reception last evening on their return from the county seat. A party of friends gathered at the home of Mrs. E.E. Knott at 728 Walnut street and with the guests of honor spent a delightful period at games, followed by a supper. The couple left on the Overland for a honeymoon trip in Southern California."

Chico Enterprise Record, Chico, CA, Tuesday, August 2, 1966, page 2A: "Lydia Crandall. Lydia G. Crandall, 73, of Chico died yesterday in Paradise hospital.
"Mrs. Crandall was born in Hoopston, IL, on May 4, 1893. She came to Chico in 1907 and was married to Benjamin Crandall in 1913. She was active in the First Christian Church.
"Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Jean Parker of Durham; Mrs. Anita McArdel of San Francisco; a son LeRoy of Los Angeles; a brother Lee Bundy of Chico; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
"Twilight funeral services will be held at the Chico Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m., Thursday. Entombment will be in the Chico Memorial Mausoleum beside her husband, Benjamin, who preceded her in death in 1963."
