US Congressman. Elected as a Whig to represent Connecticut's 6th District in the Twenty-sixth and Twenty-seventh Congresses, he served from 1839 to 1843. Brockway was born in Ellington, Tolland County, Connecticut, and graduated from Yale College in 1820. In 1823 he was admitted to the bar and returned to Ellington to open a legal practice. He was a member of the State House of Representatives from 1832 to 1838, and served in the State Senate in 1834. Following his two terms in the US Congress he was prosecuting attorney for Tolland County from 1849 to until his resignation in 1867. He died in Ellington.
