Note: At a meeting of Ridgely Brown Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans, at Rockville, Miss May Sellman, president of the Montgomery County Chapter of Daughters of the Confederacy, presented the camp with a confederate flag in memory of her father, the late John Poole Sellman, who was a member of the First Maryland Confederate Cavalry. The flag was accepted by Samuel Riggs, commander of the camp. The Frederick Post - January 22, 1916

Miss May Sellman, formerly a resident at 206 Rockwell Terrace, this city [Frederick, MD], died Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock in Washington Sanatarium, aged 78 years.

She was a daughter of the late John Poole and Annie Hempstone Sellman and was a charter member and former president of Ridgely Brown Chapter, U.D.C. She was a member of All Saints church, this city.

Surviving are two nephews, Hunton Dade Sellman, Iowa City, and John Poole Sellman, Washington, Ind.

The body is at the funeral home in Barnesville, where services will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday morning. Rev. Samuel S. Johnston will officiate. Interment in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville. William B. Hilton, funeral director.
