Wife of Elisha Thora Turner
Obituary taken from the Monitor Hearld Newspaper, Calhoun County, Mississippi May 15 1947 edition.
Bruce, Miss., May 12.--Mrs. Ada Tutor Turner, of Banner community, died in a Memphis hospital, Thursday, May 8. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Bullard, of Booneville, were held at the Tutor cemetery in Pontotoc County on Friday.
Mrs. Turner was 81 years old. She spent all of those years in useful service to her family and her community as long as her health permitted. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Glasco Baptist Church for many years.
The history of the Turner and Tutor families dates back to the origin of Calhoun and Pontotoc counties. Through the years these families have weiled much influence in the building of their communities and nowhere on earth do we find more progressive, God-fearing people. Mrs. Turner's life was an important cog in the leadership of these fine families.
She is survived by her husband, E. T. Turner, of Banner, one daughter, Mrs. R. C. McCarley , of Tula; two sons, E. B. Turner of Water Valley, and Harold Turner , of Banner, one brother, W. L. Tutor, of Randolph; and one sister, Mrs. J. L. Ingram, of Water Valley.
Thornton Funeral Home , Bruce Miss., had charge of funeral arrangements. Transcribed and contributed by Deborah Turner Dunn ID#47291475
