Lloyd W. Althouse, 97, a long-time resident of Strasburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County. Born June 16, 1914 in Paradise Township, he was the son of the late William and Iva (Birely) Althouse. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella M. McCartney, in August 1990.

Mr. Althouse retired from Carl Sangrey Co. in 1981, where he worked as a cement finisher. He was a member of Mt. Eden Lutheran Church on May Post Office Road in Quarryville.

Lloyd was the last of his immediate family but is survived by many nieces and nephews and enjoyed many friendships throughout his life.

As per his request, there will be no services. He will be interred at the Mt. Eden Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Eden Lutheran Church, 1241 May Post Office Rd., Quarryville, PA 17566 or to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
