Reginald Durgin

EAST ROCHESTER; Reginald N. Durgin,78, of 38 Unity St., died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Born July 13, 1930, in Porter, Maine, he was the son of the late Gilman and *Helen (Tibbitts) Durgin.

Mr. Durgin had lived in East Rochester since 1952 after moving from Porter. He was employed as a Ford Auto technician at Brady Ford until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid gardener.

Members of his family include his wife of 54 years, Goldie (Garland) Durgin of East Rochester; his daughters, Regina Durgin of Barnstead, Kim Smith and her husband, Jerome, of Effingham and Patricia Smith of Parsonsfield, Maine; his sons, Daniel Durgin of Quincy, Mass., and Joseph Durgin and his wife, Lynne, of Milton Mills; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Adjutant of Ossipee.

He was predeceased by a sister, Lois Durgin; his stepmother, Dora Durgin and stepfather, Gordon Tibbetts; a son-in-law, Michael Smith Sr. and two grandchildren, Kalla Smith and Jennifer Durgin.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 6 p.m. with visitation hours to be held 1 hour prior at the of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester NH 03867.

Burial will be in the New Cold Spring Cemetery at a later date.
