US Congressman. Elected to represent New Jersey's 7th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1937 to 1950. He was defeated in 1954. Also served as a Member of the New Jersey State House of Assembly from 1935 to 1937, and served in the United States Army during World War I (1914-1918). He plead no contest to embezzlement and resigned from Congress and served time in prison.
