Thomas Jefferson Crummer was the son of Thomas Crummer and Margaret McCaffrey. If the Rev. John Crummer book is correct and the family was in New York in 1818, then Thomas would have been born in NY. He married in Philadelphia, PA, 25 May 1841, Eliza Myers (1821-1903).

From church records recorded in Tubrid Church, Kesh, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland:
Thomas Crummer, b. 23 Feb 1817, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh,

OBITUARY
THOMAS CRUMMER

Thomas Crummer was a native of Pennsylvania, born in 1818, married in 1841, came west in 1842 and resided for a time in Galena and afterwards at Elizabeth, his trade being that of a cabinet maker. From Elizabeth he came to Woodbine and purchased a farm on Rush Creek, where he resided with his family the latter part of his life, and where he died April 30, at the age of 74 years. Mr. Crummer was a member of the M.E. church and much esteemed by friends and neighbors, and it is the testimony of his friends that his last moments were cheered by a steadfast hope of heaven. His life companion expressed great satisfaction in the evidence he gave of a happy and peaceful departure. His remains were taken to the cemetery of the M.E. church of Woodbine for burial, after religious services in the church. He leaves a widow, four sons and three daughters to mourn his loss. They have the sympathy of the community in their affliction. J.R.S.
