Frank Keeney Fatally Injured Last Saturday Night While Working Upon a Barn
Last Saturday afternoon Frank Keeney of this city, who moved here from South Hannibal a few months ago, was fatally injured in falling from a scaffold while at work on his brother's barn in West First St. Upon an examination by the attending physicians it was at once ascertained that Mr. Keeney was seriously injured and the ambulance was called and he was removed to the City hospital, where death resulted about 6 o'clock, a few hours after the accident. Seven ribs were broken some of which penetrated his lungs and he was otherwise injured. Another man was on the scaffold but was not seriously injured.
The unfortunate man is survived by the widow and five daughters and three sons-in-law. He was 44 years old and formerly lived in Hannibal and was a highly respected citizen. He was a member of the Hannibal Centre lodge of Maccabees and the funeral was held on Tuesday at Hannibal Centre.
