Donald W. Ballard was born June 27, 1934 at his grandparent's home near Bill, Wyoming; the son of William E. and Elisabeth R. (Schick) Ballard, Sr. He was reared on the Ballard Ranch attending country school and then attended and graduated from Douglas High School. Following graduation, he attended a business college in Rapid City, S. D. for one year, and then lived and worked with his parents on the family ranch.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge No. 602.
He is survived by his mother of Douglas; and two brothers, Kenneth Ballard of Laramie and Richard J. Ballard of Americus, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father on June 4, 1978; and one brother, William E. Ballard Jr. on March 10, 1992.
