He was born in Early, Iowa in 1887 to Warren and Mary Jane Doane. Around age 6 his family moved Des Moines, Iowa where he lived until moving to Eastern Oregon. While attending college in Idaho, he met and married Hattie Leona Yoachum. In the 20's he relocated his family to Pasadena, CA to complete his studies and then Anaheim, CA where he was an educator and the first Principle of Fremont Middle School. Anaheim was where he and his wife Hattie both lived out their final days.
