Henry O. Wright, 66, Dies: Heart Attack
Funeral services for Henry Oscar Wright of Oto who died unexpectedly of a heart attack Monday, June 30, 1958, were held at the Cushing Methodist church Wednesday, July 2 at 2 p.m. Rev. C. Q. Wallace officiated. Mrs. Berneice Anderson played comforting selections on the organ and accompanied Mr. and Mrs. John Willmott of Oto as they sang "In The Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Nephews served as pallbearers. They were Robert Mann, Ronald Wright, Raymond Mann, Jerry Smith, Wm. Utesch, Jr., and Darrell Florke. Flowers were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Wisnton Hanson and Jr. and Kenneth Stratton. Albert Lall arranged the cars.

Henry Oscar Wright, known to his friends as Oscar, was born February 24, 1892 on a farm near Correctionville, to Mr. and Mrs. George H. Wright. He spent his youth in this vicinity. On June 26, 1912 he was united in marriage to Addie Parks and they settled on a farm in Woodbury county. To this union one son, George, was born. Addie passed away on January 10, 1921.

Oscar was joined in marriage to Augusta Petersen on July 18, 1922 at Sioux City, Iowa. To this marriage four daughters were born. They farmed on various farms in Woodbury and Ida counties. He also served as justice of the peace at Correctionville at one time. Finally Oscar quit farming and moved to Battle Creek, Iowa where he engaged in carpentry until he suffered a stroke from which he never fully recovered. The family then moved to Cushing where they resided for several years until they moved to Oto where Oscar was employed as the janitor of the public schools there. He suffered a heart attack and passed away on Monday, June 30, at his home in Oto.

Oscar was a member of the Methodist church of Cushion, Ia., and had been a member of the Odd Fellow lodge for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Inez. He leaves to survive his passing his wife, Augusta, a son, George of Ames, Iowa, and his four daughters: Grace, Mrs. Garland Armstrong of Sioux City, Gladys, Mrs. Thomas Leesley, Jr., of Oto, Alyce, Mrs. Dale Anderson of Cushing, and Betty, Mrs. Dale Stauffer of Ida Grove, and fourteen grandchildren, one brother, Walter, of Correctionville, three sisters, Mrs. Nelson Foster of Correctionville, Mrs. Maud Anderson of Cushing and Mrs. Ed Mann of Spencer. Burial was in the Cushing cemetery. Wilson-Hull service was in charge.
