Robin Wardlaw, only daughter of J. Powell and Georgia (née Dickinson) Wardlaw, was born April 28th 1918 in Richmond, Virginia. Robin's parents were descendants of three distinguished families: the Wardlaw's of Abbeville, S.C., the Dickinson's from Savannah and the Gaston's of revolution fame in Chester, S.C. Powell and Georgia Wardlaw were both well known in historic circles throughout Virginia.

Robin Wardlaw was a 1946 graduate of St. Catherine's School and a very accomplished artist. She married William Miller on June 27th 1958; with whom she had one son, Jeffery Wardlaw. They lived in Glastonbury, Connecticut.

In her later life, Robin Miller returned to Virginia were she continue her painting and became an active member of Christ Church Episcopal in Richmond.




MILLER, Robin Wardlaw, 81, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009. She is survived by her son, Jeff; daughter-in-law, Heather; and two granddaughters, Taylor and Maddie Miller. Mrs. Miller graduated from St. Catherine's School in 1946, attended Queens College and was a very talented artist. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 4, at Christ Church Episcopal with a reception following. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Church Episcopal, 5000 Pouncey Tract Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23059.Published in the Richmond Times-Dispatch from 10/2/2009 - 10/3/2009
