George Dyer Matteson
News has been received here on the death in Tacoma, Wash., Oct 20, of George Dyer Matteson, a former resident of this county and a veteran of the Civil War. Mr. Matteson was born in the farm in the town of LeRay near Sanfords Corners, now occupied by his uncle Frank D. Matteson. He was born 71 years ago. After the close of the Civil War, Mr. Matteson went to Minnesota and soon after removed to Tacoma, where he had since resided. Death was due to apoplexy. Mr. Matteson is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs J. L. Chase (Ida B or L & John L. Chase) a son R. D. Matteson, and two brothers William W. Matteson, of Herman, N.Y. and Charles Matteson, of Canton.
