He was the son of Nicholas and Anna Pera Strife, who were among the pioneer settlers of the Kirschnerville section. He was one of a family of 10 children.
On Nov. 20, 1906, he married Miss Susan Feisthamel, who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Niles Strife, who operates the farm; one sister, Mrs. Julia Pelo, Lowville; three brothers, Isaac and Fred Strife, Croghan and William Strife, Holland Patent; several nieces and nephews. Utica Daily Press, Friday, November 10, 1944
