"DENHAM FUNERAL AT LETTS, IA., SUNDAY.

Letts, Ia., Sept. 20. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. O. B. Rogers, M. E. pastor, Sunday afternoon at the Emory Curtis home here for John Logan Denham of Fairfield, a former Letts resident. Mr. Denham died at his home Friday night [September 17] after an illness of only three hours. He was 54 years old. Vocal numbers were sung by L. E. Parsons. Mrs. M. C Ross and Mrs. William Estep had charge of the flowers.

The Masonic lodge of Letts, No. 245, A. F. and A. M., had charge of the service at the grave. Burial was in the Letts cemetery.

Relatives who attended from out of town are: Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hart, Miss Stella Hart, Miss Lola Collins, Clifford Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clifford, Mr. and Mrs. M. McGuire and children, Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Parsons, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Garrett and daughter Verla, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Woodward and Mrs. J. J. Legler, all of Muscatine; Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Denham of Washington; Mr. and Mrs. E[rnest] B. Curtis and children, Mrs. Harriet Curtis [nee Harriet Mariah Jacobs] and son, Fred Curtis [Fredrick Herman Curtis], of Columbus Junction."
