Phillip Moore Gatchell was born 11 Sep 1853 in Mifflin Township, Wyandot County, Ohio to farmer Hiram Haines Gatchell and Sarah (née Moore), married schoolteacher Florence Ada Kelley 15 Oct 1878 in Wyandot County, Ohio, had 9 children with her, moved with his family to Center Township, Smith County, Kansas circa 1884--to White Salmon, Klickitat County, Washington circa 1891--and to Fruitvale, Yakima County, Washington circa 1899 , died 20 Nov 1913 in North Yakima, Yakima County, Washington at the age of 60, and was buried in Tahoma Cemetery in North Yakima (now Yakima). His occupations included laborer, sheep shearer, and grocer. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
