Albin Kesley Schoepf Sr. was the son of William Kesley Schoepf and Albertine Odell Schoepf of Cincinnati. A 1915 graduate of Princeton University, after a long career Albin retired as president of Sun Chemical Company.

He served in the U. S. Army during World War I as Lieutenant Field Artillery and later as Captain Field Artillery.

In 1915 Albin exchanged nuptials with Virginia Joy Goodbar, the daughter of Alvan Burr Goodbar and Luan Joy Goodbar of St. Louis. The Schoepfs became the parents of four: (1) Virginia Joy Schoepf Boynton (1917-2003); (2) Albin Kesley Schoepf Jr. (1919-1943), a member of the 99th Bomber Squadron of the U.S Army Air Corps, whose plane was shot down near Sicily during World War II. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart; (3) Julia Bates Schoepf Crocker (b. 1927); and (4) Luan Hill Schoepf Hewitt (1930-2003).
