Amber was the seventh of 12 children, six girls and six boys. A set of twin girls and another sister died in infancy. When she was 13 her mother died of breast cancer living her to care for her father and brothers, a younger sister had gone to live with a older sister. She attended schools in Willard, Utah until she was 15. In the winter of 1887 she went to live with her mother's sister, Martha Parish in Elba Cassia County, Idaho she finished school there. It was there that she met Enoch Grover and they were married on May 22,1889 in the Logan Temple. They moved to Rigby in the fall of 1890 and homestead 160 acres of sagebrush land. Amber gave birth to 13 children: Lizzie, Nancy, Elmer, Ursel, Armelia, Delbert, Clarence, Lowell, Alton, Milton, Vetta, Welda and Irma. She lost two sons when they babies and one when he was 14. Regardless of what the years brought her to bear, she remained patient and uncomplaining. she lived her life as an example for her children and grandchildren to follow. Her grandaughter Martha remembers staying and helping her grandma. She remembers hobos coming to Amber's door, she never turned any away, she always fed them, even if all she was eggs. Amber died Feb. 21, 1945, at the age of 74 1/2 years at her daughter Vetta's home in Lincoln. She was buried in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetary.
