Ted and his older brother JW were both mustered into Co H, 6th Regiment, Vermont Volunteers, on 14 August 1861. He was wounded 16 April 1862 and discharged 11 October that year. For some time he was a farmer in Worcester with about 14 head of cattle. He later moved to Hardwick where he died of endocarditis, a heart ailment. [his marriage cert shows he was born Worcester; all other docs show England.
