Mrs. Barbara Jane Krewson Runkle, wife of Erastus M. Runkle, Laurel R. D. 1, died at 5:15 o'clock this morning at her home following a lengthy illness. Death resulted from a complication of diseases. She was aged 71 years. The deceased, daughter of the late John and Susan Krewson, was born in Lower Chanceford township, near Bridgeville. Surviving, besides the husband, are two sons, Frank W. and Samuel M. Runkle, both of Brogueville R. D. 1, and one daughter, Mrs. Paul Uffleman, Laurel R. D. 1. Three grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Runkle was a member of the New Harmony Presbyterian church, The Brogue, for the past 23 years and also belonged to the Mary Montgomery class of the Sunday school, taught by Mrs. William Hively and Mrs. Ethel Curran. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with all services at the late residence. Rev. George Johnston, pastor of New Harmony church, will officiate.
