Henry P. Shanks Dies Suddenly In Dallas Home

Henry Pete Shanks, 56, of Dallas, formerly of the White Rock community, died suddenly at 3:30 o’clock this morning at the family home. The body was brought to Greenville by the James-Peters Funeral Home and will be carried late today to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stone in White Rock. Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon in the White Rock Methodist church with Rev. Robert Ridley of Carrolton, Rev. Land of Celeste and Reverend Fred Moore of Shady Grove officiating. Interment will take place in the Tidwell cemetery.

Born in the White Rock community March 28, 1889, Mr. Shanks made his home in that community where he successfully followed the profession of farming until about four years ago when he accepted a position at Majors Field. At the time of his death he was an employe of North American at Dallas. Mr. Shanks was a veteran of World War 1 and served in France.

Surviving are his wife, the former Hazel Lenora Jones Shanks, whom he married Jan. 28, 1923 and one son, PFC Billie Ward Shanks, who is with the First Army in Germany, one brother, C. B. Shanks of White Rock and two sisters Mrs. Oscar Stone and Mrs. J. E. Titus of White Rock.
