She was a member of Mackey Wesley Sunday school class of the First United Methodist Church. She was a lifetime member of Circle I of the United Methodist Women's Society and a member of Woman's Forum. She graduated from Brownwood and SMU. She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.
