James W. (Jim) Lamm died Thursday morning in a Greenville hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Lamm was born July 17, 1894, in the Tidwell community, where he lived his entire lifetime. He was the son of L. W. Lamm and Armenta Reeves Lamm.

Farming was his occupation and sports was his hobby, especially baseball. He married Hattie Barker April 14, 1914.

He was a member of Tidwell Baptist Church and a Mason.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Tidwell Baptist Church. The Rev. Fred Chambers, pastor, and the Rev. G. B. Bush will conduct services. Sorrells and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of services. Greenville Masonic Lodge will be in charge of graveside services.

Survivors include his widow of Greenville, four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Lytal, Mrs. Jimmie Whisenhunt, and Mrs. Nell Erwin all of Greenville and Mrs. Katherine Webb of Paris; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Mrs. L. W. Lamm of Dallas; five brothers, Edd Lamm of Garland, Arvil Lamm and L. W. Lamm Jr. of Greenville, and Frank Lamm and Chapman Swindell of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Shipp of Greenville, Mrs. Robena McEntire of Grand Prairie and Mrs. Verna Triplett of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Sorrells and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 7-9 p.m.
