James T. Norton (1849-1898) was a laborer.

Parents:
Michael Norton (c1825-?) and Bridget Mulligan (c1825-?).

Death:
He died on July 28, 1898 at 51 Woodward Avenue in Boston, Massachusetts where he had been working as a laborer.

Funeral notice:
Norton. In Roxbury, July 28, 1898, James T., beloved husband of Mary Norton, 42 yrs. Funeral from his late residence, 51 Woodward avenue, Sunday, July 31, at 1:30; services at St Patrick's church, Dudley avenue at 2. Relatives and friends invited. (Source: The Boston Globe of Boston, Massachusetts on July 29, 1898)

Rediscovery:
I was going through Familysearch on Monday, July 18, 2011 and searched in the database for any Mulligan - Norton children or marriages and the result was James T. Norton (1849-1898) of Boston, Massachusetts. The dates fit perfectly as a sibling of Patrick Norton. Patrick came from Boston and was naturalized in Boston according to a photocopy of a naturalization record that was passed down in the family. The connection to our Michael Norton (c1825-?) and Bridget Mulligan (c1825-?) is still tentative. There is no document that ties James T. Norton to Patrick J. Norton. In 2018 the DNA evidence confirmed the relationship with the Endicotts and the Ralstons of Boston.

Unfinished work:
Call the cemetery to see who is buried with him.

Research:
Researched and written by Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) on 18 July 2011 for Findagrave. Updated on March 11, 2023 with the text of his funeral notice.
