Violet B "Penny" Mick, age 88, of Route 1, Grafton, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Rosewood Center surrounded by her family.

She was born in Logan, WV, January 28, 1923, a daughter of the late Jasper and Ana Mae (Chafin) Browning. Her husband, William Mick survives of Grafton, they were united in marriage July 22, 1957.

Mrs. Mick was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she was a member of the St. Augustine Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the VFW Post #3081 Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two brothers, Aaron Browning, of Chapmanville, WV, and Jimmy Browning, of Mt. Gary, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: five brothers, Frank, Don, John, Alva, and Lee Browning; and three sisters, Mary Jane Harper, Mildred Williams, and Ruth Anderson.

Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton, on Monday from 3–8 p.m. A Rite of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Father Arthur Bufogle as celebrant.

Interment at the WV National Cemetery.
