Ross H. McManigell Jr. 85, died at 11:15 p.m. March 19, 2010, surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Charleston, Ill., to Ross Henry and Hazel A. Trulock McManigell, who preceded him in death. On June 18, 1949, he married Ruthanna Hill, who died Aug. 5, 1994.

Mr. McManigell retired from the Nickle Plate Railroad as a signal maintainer and continued his enthusiasm for trains the rest of his life. He was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Karen Bechstein, of Findlay, Linda (Craig) Henry, of Milford, Pa., and Rebecca (Gregory) Beechler, of Findlay; four grandchildren, Colin Henry, Erin Henry, John Forsythe and Rachel (Justin) Smart; a great-grandson, Marshall Smart; and a sister, W. Jean Adams, of Monett, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Bechstein.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay. Pastor Will Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
