Joseph W. "Buck" Johnson, 86, died Friday in Circleville Manor after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, at the First Baptist Church, Circleville, with the Rev. George Bryant and the Rev. T. Milton Duke officiating. Burial will follow in Reber Hill Cemetery, Circleville.
Friends may call at the Mader Funeral Home after 1 P.M. today.
Mr. Johnson was a retired Captain of the Columbus Fire Department.
Born Aug. 15, 1892, in Columbus, he was the son of Joseph M. & Lilly Sheets Johnson.
His first wife, the former Maude Hoover and five sons, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carmen Huffman, 531 E. Franklin St., Circleville; two daughters, Mrs Elise ross, Chillicothe, and Mrs Gertrude Arledge, Tarlton; one son Charles W. Johnson, Columbus; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Schoot, Columbus; one stepson L. Wayne McKinley, Circleville; one stepdaughter, Janice Justice, Route 2, Circleville; 24 grandchildren, four step grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
