Husband of Elspet Ross. Born Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen.
They came to Ontario in early 1855 from Aberdeen. They first settled in the township of Woolwich, near the town of Winterbourne, Waterloo County, Ontario. By early 1861, they had moved to a farm located in Egremont Township, Grey Co., ON
He died at the home of his daughter Mrs. John Wilson, at Whiteside Farm near Beeton, where he had spent the last five years of his life.
