FLORENCE — Nancy Eugenia Benton, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, in a Florence hospital after several years of declining health.
Miss Benton was born in Timmonsville, a daughter of the late Willie Lester and Corrie Sansbury Benton. She taught in the Sumter city schools since the early 1960s and returned to Florence after her retirement.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Clarice Benton Harris.
Surviving are a sister, Corrie Lee Benton; brother, Luther Benton; and a number of cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
