November 29, 1984 an accident claimed the life of Keith Edward Yarberry, 22, of Carlisle, when his vehicle plunged into a water filled canal about two miles west of Carlisle on I-40 according to Arkansas State Trooper Marlin Wright of Cabot. Trooper Wright said Yarberry was eastbound driving a 1983 Chevrolet pickup when he left the freeway on the north side, travelled 370 feet along the median, before running into a drainage ditch.Wednesday, Nov 28, 1984Funeral for Keith Edward Yarberry, age 22, of Carlisle, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist. Burial will be in Flynn Cemetery near Humnoke by Boyd Funeral Home of Hazen. He was a Computer Shoppe employee. Survivors are his parent, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Bowlan of Carlisle; a sister, Bridgett Bowlan of Carlisle, his grandparents, Lena Goad and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bowlan, all of Carlisle.
