Francis Marion Stahlman was born near Hazen in Warsaw Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.

He was the son of Gabriel Stahlman and Esther Keck.

He married Rhoda Estella Wilson on 29 Dec 1892 in the Hazen Presbyterian Church in Hazen, Jefferson Co., PA.

Francis died at the Canton Hospital in Canton, OH and was buried 5 Nov 1943.

F. M. Stahlman Dies In Canton Hospital Contractor, Builder And Farmer; Lived Here 42 Years

Francis Marion Stahlman, 146 Western Avenue, Brookville, died at 9:00 o'clock in the evening of Tuesday, November 2, in the Canton Hospital, Canton Ohio, of a heart attack, after an illness of two years. He was 77 years, seven months and 21 days of age at the time of his death.

Deceased was born at Kirkman, Jefferson County, on February 2, 1866, a son of Gabriel and Esther (Keck) Stahlman. On December 21, 1892, he was united in marriage with Miss Rhonda Wilson, of Hazen, the wedding taking place at the Wilson home with the Rev. Basil R. King performing the ceremony. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Stahlman lived on a farm in Kirkman, for 10 years, coming to Brookville 42 years ago.

Mr. Stahlman engaged in contracting and building here until his health failed several years ago. Mr. Stahlman was a lifelong Democrat.

One son and three daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stahlman, all of whom survive as follows: Harold, of Baden; Mrs. Alda Whepley, Brockway; Mrs. Helen Wright, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Marion Searles, Salem, Ohio. Six grandchildren also survive. They are: Florence and Melvin Stahlman, Darrel and Robert Whepley, Mory, Ellen, and Donald Searles. Mrs. Stahlman died in 1906.

Two brothers also survive: George M. Stahlman, Pine street, and C.R. Stahlman, Valley street, Brookville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon, November 5, from the Johnson Funeral Home, in Jefferson street, Rev. E. P. Blowers. Interment will be made in Temple cemetery at Hazen. Deceased was a member of the Hazen Presbyterian Church.
