The Rev. Jack Peterson officiated. Pallbearers were Sam Andersen, Keith Ellis, David Nash, John Radcliffe,
David Wolfe, & Jim Youngclas. Honorary bearers included Merle Guerin, John Hummel, & Ray Wilson.
Burial was in Waterman Cemetery at Sutherland, Iowa.
Evelyn Mae Albers was born to Ralph and Grace Youde Chesley at Sutherland, Iowa. She graduated from Sutherland High School in 1936 and from Nettleton College at Sioux City. She moved to Spirit Lake in 1946 where she was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She was an active volunteer in various community organizations. Evelyn was a devoted advocate for the Humane Society and was a past member of the Business and Professional Women. She enjoyed her family and friends, bridge, golf, travel, and her dog.
Evelyn retired after 21 years as Office Assistant at the Dickinson County Extension. Her work with the extension office and 4-H youth brought her great pleasure.
She died March 25 at the home following a lengthy illness. Surviving are her daughters, Cinda Guerin and husband Gary of Madison, WI, Julie Nash and her husband Chuck of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Kali Guerin, Kerrie and David Wolf, Kaci Nash, Brian Nash, David and Anita Nash; and special friend, Ralph Jalas of Sutherland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Warren, in 1969.
