Arthur Mortimore died at the Hamburg hospital on Thursday, following a short illness, although he had been in failing health for several months. He was cheerful in the last and never complained during his illness. He had lived in this
community all his life, and in the Cox Chapel neighborhood for thirty years. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.

William Arthur, son of Ralph and Ella Mortimore, was born in Fremont county, Iowa, November 23 1883, and died April 13, 1944, aged 60 years, 4 months and 20 days. He was united in marriage to Elmira Bridgford on October 10, 1904 and to this union three children were born. Eli and Donald of Hamburg, and Mrs. Laura Monroe of Watson. He also leaves his wife, stepmother, seven brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at the Johnson Funeral Home Sunday morning, conducted by the Rev. D. N. Gillett, and interment was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
