daughter of Johnston Washington Howard and Nancy Aiken. Died sometime between 1873/1880.

Buried in unmarked grave next to her son Charlie.

Her son Charlie was conceived by one of Cordelia's father's slaves. Her father paid John Denton $1,000 in gold to marry her. He lived with John and Cordelia until her death and then was raised by a preacher and his wife. He was never mentioned in his grandfather, Johnston Howard's will. Charlie was loved and respected by all who knew him in Madisonville, Tenn. Charlie and his wife Kate Berry had no children. He had in his possession a purse that was his mother's and wanted to be buried beside her. No stones exist for any of them.
