From Lisa Stalnaker (#46893021):
Mary was born at MacDuff, Aberdeenshire with her birth registered at Gamrie Parish, Banffshire, Scotland.
Mary and John Taylor were married on 3 July 1850 at the Congregational Church in Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland and within a few days following departed from Glasgow to the US, arriving in New York on 23 Aug 1850.
They initially made their home in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where John worked as a Blacksmith for a coal mining company.
They moved to Hawesville, Hancock co, Kentucky in 1853; and then to Pawnee co, Nebraska in 1864.
John built Mary a beautiful home in Table Rock with the help of his brother-in-law David Wishart, but Mary died just weeks before it's completion, and never had the opportunity to enjoy it.
John and Mary were the parents eight children: William Lindsay, Robena Robertson, Mary Ellen, Agnes Francis, Robert Wishart, Elizabeth, Emma Jen, and John Thomas.
