Kathleen Rose "Kathy" (McLaughlin) Beck, 75, of Great Falls, died of natural causes Wednesday, July 13, at a local hospital.
A vigil service is 7 this evening at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Funeral Liturgy is 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Spirit, with burial at St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in Hazen, N.D. O'Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Kathleen was born to Joe and Alvina (Heihn) McLaughlin on June 25, 1936, in Hazen, N.D.
On Aug. 19, 1963, she married Harold Beck in Great Falls. From this union two sons were born, Scott and Randy.
She worked as a teacher at St. Thomas Daycare, which she enjoyed very much. She volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Society for many years. Kathy was a very dedicated and active member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church community.
Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and the occasional slot machine.
Kathy will be truly missed by all whose lives she has touched.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Jody) Beck and Randy (Sheli) Beck, both of Great Falls; sister Geri Pavlicek of Dickinson, N.D.; brothers Jim (Pat) McLaughlin of Dickinson, and Tom McLaughlin of Beulah, N.D.; sister-in-law Marceal McLaughlin of Hazen; granddaughters Shelby and Madison Beck of Great Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents Joe and Alvina McLaughlin; sister Shirley McLaughlin; brother JoeMcLaughlin; brother-in-law Don Pavlicek and sister-in-law Vesta McLaughlin.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Thomas Child Development Center or Peace Hospice.
