Freda Murray
Estherville – Services for Freda Murray, 96, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Tom Nash presiding. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at Rosewood Manor.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with parish vigil at 7 p.m.

She was born Jan. 30, 1902 in Clay County, Iowa the daughter of Ben and Kate (Seburg) Ruhnke. She attended rural schools in Dickinson County. On Sept. 21, 1921, she married John Murray in Jackson, Minn. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Spencer and Terril before moving to Estherville in 1943. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Service Star.

She is survived by sons, Charles and Ralph of Estherville and LeVurne of Ankeny; a daughter, Aletha McDonald of Eugene, Ore., 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968, two sons, one daughter, two grandsons, parents, two sisters and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 17, 1998)
