Violet M. Green
78, of South Vienna, died unexpectedly April 2, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and the center of our family. Violet was born in Kandyohi County, Minnesota on December 20-1924, the daughter of Casper & Louise (Mickelson) Olson. She was a member of the Lagonda United Methodist Church. Her 54-year marriage to Thomas Green was a testament to her strength and committment to family. Violet was the cherished mother to her eight children, Carolyn and Ron Nave of Stonjneton, Connecticut, Bruce Green of Springfield, Mike and Pam Green of South Vienna, Linda and Mike Rice of Urbana, Diane Massle of South Vienna, Debra Perkins of Urbana, Cheryl Martin of Springfield and Janet & Perry Snyder of Springfield. She was a proud grand-mother to her 13 grandchildren; Jim Nave, Terri Green, Tammy Hively, Kris Green, Stacey Green, Brittany Green, Tony Stevens, Mike Rice Jr., Jason Green, Matt Parker, Josh Snyder and Jessica Martin and also 13 great grandchildren. Violet remains a loving sister to her three sisters and three brothers; Arne and Marian Olson, Harlow and Doris Olson, Orlean and Shirley Olson, Florence Thompson, Pearl Schlberg all from Minnesota, and Lucille Peterson of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeffrey Nave and her parents. As in life, she will remain in our hearts forever. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3 to 6 pm. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, SPRINGFIELD. Funeral services will be in the Funeral Home held Monday at 11:00 am with Pastor Barbara Welshel officiating. Burial will be in Newcomers Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lagonda United Methodist Church, 2030 Mitchell Boulevard, Springfield, Ohio 45503.
