Mary loved being outdoors and working in the yard with her flowers. Her other hobbies included swimming, camping, riding motor-cycles, and traveling. Mary loved spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was having family get-togethers during the holidays. Mary loved Jesus Christ and attended First United Methodist Church. Mary went home to be with our Lord on July 8, 2011, after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Larry Bulriss, daughter Brenda Groves Barnhart, son-in-law Neal Groves, and parents Josephine and Earl Underwood.
Mary is survived by her son John Thornton, Jr., daughter Tina Barnes and husband Robert, son Michael Thornton and wife Tammy, brother Loyd Seguin and wife JoAnn, brother Roger Seguin and wife Grace, 10 grandchildren and spouses, 6 great-grandchildren, and many really good friends.
