Charles W Parks, who was kicked by a horse on the evening of the 11th, and died the next day, living 30 hours after the fatal blow was recieved. His sufferings were very great indeed, it is impossible for public words to express the agony of such a death: The blow was recieved in the lower abdomen, the internal injury being frightful, and not withstanding his great suffering, he bore it all with great patience and resignation. He was a member of the Parks Crossroads Christian Church and will be lamented by all who knew him: was about 40 years old, and leaves a widow and 7 little children to mourn their irreparable loss. This makes two sons that Uncle John Parks has lost in this manner.
Charles Parks was the first to be buried in the Parks Crossroads Cemetery.
